The 13th European Music Therapy Conference “BRIDGES” will take place July 2025 in Hamburg, Germany. The editors of the German journal Musiktherapeutische Umschau will use this opportunity to release a special issue focusing on cultural and language diversity across Europe – reaching beyond language barriers to offer insight into music therapy from different countries.

Authors from countries throughout Europe are invited to submit contributions in their national and/or native languages1As we will be relying on DeepL for the translations, we can accept the following languages: Bulgarian, Czech, Danish, Dutch, English, Estonian, Finnish, French, German, Greek, Hungarian, Italian, Latvian, Lithuanian, Norwegian (Bokmål), Polish, Portuguese, Romanian, Russian, Slovakian, Slovenian, Spanish, Swedish, Turkish, Ukrainian. If your language is not among these, we will use solely your English version of the manuscript for the translation into German.. Submissions may cover a wide range of topics, offering insights into research, teaching and practice, covering scientific, practical, theoretical, philosophical, economic, societal, political, or intercultural aspects. Please limit your work to a maximum of 15,000 characters (incl. spaces).

In addition, short manuscripts illustrating scenes/experiences in which cultural- and/or language diversity impacts music therapy training or practice are welcome. These should not exceed 5,000 characters (incl. spaces).

Accepted papers will be translated into German for the MU print issue, in addition to online availability in both the original language and English. For this purpose, authors will be requested to add an English translation (at their own expense).
