We know from experience that finding a music therapy training program in another country, in a language you know and at the level you need can be very challenging. Therefore we are in the process of compiling this table of searchable information about training courses in EMTC member countries. We hope it will help!
You can sort the table by clicking on the arrows at the top of each column, or enter a search term to display, for example, all Bachelor courses, or all courses in German.
MOST of these courses will give you a professional qualification. Where this is not the case, we hope we have made it clear. Always check with the institution offering the course!
It is not easy to give information about the level of the course or certificate offered, as there is a lot of variation amongst countries. We have tried to give explanations in the footnotes where necessary. Clicking on the entries with a * should take you directly to the footnotes.

* A diplôme universitaire (DU) is, in France, a university degree. Contrary to the Bachelor, Master and Doctoral degrees, which are national, DU means “University diploma”.[1] The degree corresponds to a restricted domain, for temporary or professional purpose. /Wikipedia/
** The master’s course in Heidelberg runs both an English-speaking group (for international students) and a German-speaking group.
*** Intended for musicians and music teachers with a Bachelor or Master degree in Music or Music in Education who wish to train as a master music therapist. Upon completion of this pre-master’s, you will receive a certificate (please note that this is not a Music Therapy diploma) and you can continue on to the Master of Music Therapy.
**** Music therapy in Romania is still a small field, and there is a current debate regarding names across the country. There are three names for music therapy: muzicoterapie (music therapy), terapie prin muzică (therapy through music), and meloterapie (melotherapy). Moreover, when creating social media content regarding the profession, Emanuel University used a fourth name, “terapie muzicală” (musical therapy).
